She has been employed at the Croatian Conservation Institute since 2007, and she is currently the <strong>head of the Department for Wall Paintings and<br>Mosaics.<\/strong> Throughout her work, she has gained valuable experience in researching and documenting immovable heritage and has also taken a leadership role on various conservation and restoration projects focused on wall paintings. She has participated in<br>professional workshops, conferences and international projects, and she has also organized some of them. Her recent work is related to <strong>the consequences of the earthquakes that hit Zagreb and central Croatia in 2020<\/strong>. Currently, he serves as a <strong>technician in Preventive Conservation<\/strong> at the <strong>Spanish Cultural Heritage Institute<\/strong> and acts as the Coordinator for the <strong>National Plan for Risks and Emergencies in Cultural Heritage<\/strong>. Having authored over fifty publications, he presently co-coordinates the <strong>National Plan for Risk and Emergency Management in Cultural Heritage<\/strong>. As Project Director at <strong>Factum Foundation<\/strong>, his work focuses on the development and application of digital technology for the documentation, study and dissemination of artistic and cultural heritage. Among many other projects, he has directed the first high-resolution scanning of the Tomb of Seti I (Luxor, 2016-2021), the Raphael Cartons at the Victoria &amp; Albert Museum (London, 2019) or Goya&#8217;s Black Paintings at the Prado Museum (Madrid, 2014). He has designed exhibitions such as <strong>The Materiality of the Aura. New Technologies for Preservation (Bologna, 2020)<\/strong> and has published articles on technology, digital conservation and museology, claiming the importance of facsimiles for the protection of works of art. She specialized in <strong>fresco restoration (UIA, Florence)<\/strong>, <strong>sculpture and painting restoration (ESCRBC and CEROA, Madrid)<\/strong>, and Master&#8217;s and Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in<strong> East Asian Studies from the UOC<\/strong>. She has been involved with interventions for museums, institutions, autonomous communities, collectors, as well as numerous singular interventions all over the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, she coordinates <strong>the interventions for mural paintings and historic cladding<\/strong> sponsored by the <strong>Spanish Cultural Heritage Institute<\/strong>, as well as <strong>the preliminary studies <\/strong>associated with these interventions. He then completed training at the S<strong>chool of Specialization in Historical-Artistic Heritage at the University of Udine.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After working as a contract researcher and teacher of the <strong>History of Medieval Art at the Sapienza University of Rome<\/strong>, in 2012, he won the public competition for <strong>Art History Officer<\/strong>. He entered the <strong>Ministry of Culture<\/strong>, where he worked in protection and valorization <strong>Areas of the Soprintendenza of Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape of Eastern Veneto and at the General Directorate of Museums.<\/strong> In 2016, he arrived at <strong>the Central Restoration Institute<\/strong>, the highest <strong>technical protection body of the Italian Ministry of Culture<\/strong>. Here he designed and directed important conservation interventions on works of art of great importance, including Giotto&#8217;s frescoes in the Scrovegni Chapel and the Capitoline of San Antonio in Padua, the mural paintings of Tomaso de Modena in the Capitoline of San Nicol\u00f2 in Treviso, the funerary monuments of Arnolfo de Cambio in the church of Santa Maria in Ara Coeli in Rome, the Polyptychs of Antonio Vivarini in the Golden Chapel of Saint Zacharias in Venice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2023, he won the competition for <strong>public managers<\/strong> organized by <strong>the National School of Administration of the Presidency of the Italian Council<\/strong>, and from 2024 &#8211; after completing the senior management training course at the SNA &#8211; he chose to rededicate his new career as a manager to <strong>the Ministry of Culture.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is the author of numerous publications on <strong>the protection and enhancement of cultural heritage, the history of art, architecture, and urban planning in the Middle Ages<\/strong>. She focuses mainly on supporting structures and the influence of buildings and their environmental context on the conservation of wall paintings, surfaces, and architectural decorations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the past 25 years, she has applied her research not only to her professional practice, but also to teaching activities, training courses, and publications. Simona is the author of original works, including <strong>&#8216;Pitture murali, i degradi di origine meccanica. Manuale per restauratori ed ingegneri&#8217;<\/strong>, published in 2014 (with a next edition planned for April 2024), and <strong>&#8216;Conservazione delle decorazioni architettoniche, il ruolo delle strutture di supporto&#8217;<\/strong>, published in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of 2022, Simona is actively collaborating with the <strong>ISCMP &nbsp;(International Scientific Committee on Mural Painting)<\/strong>&nbsp;of <strong>ICOMOS<\/strong>, eventually taking over the chairmanship in 2023. Consortium<\/strong>, with which, as Legal Representative and Technical Director, she carried out various works on movable paintings, wall paintings, stuccoes, stone works and decorated architectural surfaces. Rohit<strong> served as UNESCO Chair holder professor<\/strong> at the Institute for<br>Disaster Mitigation of Urban Cultural Heritage at Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, Japan, where he was instrumental in developing and teaching International Training Course on Disaster Risk Management of Cultural Heritage.<strong> He was the elected<br>President of ICOMOS-India from 2014-2018<\/strong> and <strong>president of ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on Risk Preparedness (ICORP) from 2010-2019<\/strong>. Rohit served as the Elected Member of the Executive Committee of ICOMOS since 2011 and was its Vice President from 2017-2020.
